Recently, RC stopped working correctly. I've tried all I know to do (nothing ) and haven't figured it out.

When I rightclick on the desktop, I get a tiny fragment of the RC skin corner and that's it.  I've uninstalled/re-installed, changed skins and...that's about it. Any ideas?

Rarely do things just "break".  What else were you doing around that time?

There was a Windows update the night before. ..and my wife was playing a game that day. I normally have to restart the computer afterward or my cursor disappears behind my window blind (making it difficult to "X" out of a progaram) and OD.

Those are the 2 that come to mind. (Probably because SHE was on my pc again.)

sounds like you have lost the configuration... if you have the rightclick icon in your system tray double click it to open the RC config window... you will see 2 panels on the left are the elements you can add on the right are the elements you are using.  i am pretty sure you will find the right panel empty which means the settings have been lost, so it's time to add the elements you want again. RC does this every now and then, but if your at least seeing a tiny bit of the skin then it's a fairly sure bet that readding the elements you want will restore it to full function again. If you don't have the rightclick icon in your system tray it can be located in c:/program files/stardock/object desktop/rightclick

as for the cursor being behind the X, heres a quick fix that works for me, right click and choose desktop properties, then click the settings tab, change the screen resolution and let it change, when the box pops up to ask if you want to keep those settings click no and let it revert back to the original resolution, that should fix it, if not you may have to do this a couple of times but it always works for me and sure beats having to reboot each time it happens. Good luck

Aha!  Thank you Nimbin !  That is what happened. There was nothing there.  That had never happened to me before. (In how many years?)  Now to see if I can remember what I had and how to do it.

I'll have to try the screen res thing next time it happens.

Thanks alot.
